Video Editing Made Easy With Shotcut Video Editor

Learn How to Create Videos Fast with Shotcut!

Get started editing your videos with Shotcut Video Editor.

I designed this course to help you start video editing fast using Shotcut.

This is what you will learn in this training.

  • A quick overview of Shotcut’s interface and tools, what they’re for
  • Basic edits like how to trim, split, rearrange and join video clips.
  • How to add and adjust transitions from one scene to another.
  • How to add text, titles and annotation to your video
  • Adding images and overlays to your video to create watermarks or logo
  • How to add, remove and adjust audio like music and voiceovers
  • How to create motion like pan and zoom with keyframes
  • Multi track editing to create Picture-in-Picture and also green screen effect.

Apply as you learn.

Each video lesson is kept short so that you can zoom into a particular lesson in the event you forgot how to create a certain effect. That way you save time without having to watch a lengthy video just to get to the part you want.
You should be able to create your video in about 60 minutes even if you are new to making videos. Once you are ready, there are also more advanced lessons to show you how to create videos with more effects.

Review from the lead develop of Shotcut.

“As the lead developer of Shotcut, I reviewed the entire course, and I think it is very good. James clearly and accurately explains many thing from basics to more advanced techniques such as picture-in-picture, chroma keying, and using custom HTML.

The lessons are sequenced in a nice progressive manner, but you can also directly visit specific topics ~ Dan Dennedy

“…I have never used a video editor before and was afraid it would be extremely difficult to learn ShotCut because there is no manual and very little training
material available. It is very difficult to search for exact details in the forums.
Your course is worth more that the modest price.”

    Helpful software, easy to use

I've used Shotcut for a year now and find the software very helpful to get my video's up and running. Not only to adjust and modify existing video's but also to make video's myself. The key to the software are the courses by James. He makes complicated and challenging matters seem easy. Thanks for the program and also for the help I received by E-mail.

    VALUE Right from the start

James Woo super short detail oriented training is perfect for those of us working with SHOTCUT. Well I may as well review like I do for my Amazon Reviews or on YouTube. PROS: James Woo Training is like the skeleton key that truly unlocks your knowledge to the powers within ShotCut. It saves you hours of trial and error for newbies and intermediate editor users. (I fall somewhere inbetween) I love Shotcut and Jame Woo too as for $29 I feel I can now solve my editing challenges. CONS: Darn few actually none as my only con is I've realized in my quest to be 1% better daily that I truly had to learn the language of editing. James Woo actually does a great job of that as well as contextually you can figure out the meaning of just about any of the terms mentioned. Yes I'd buy this course again and recommend to friends. As James Woo does update things and your course access is for one year, rather than lifetime, or one time through I probably will update for at least next year and maybe the year that follows. COST WISE you can not do better than this course, believe me I've looked. Yes you probably could put on your pirate hat, but I would not recommend it as guys like James Woo are real, really out to help us, so we should help them too. It is the right thing to do. Great Course I'm on lesson 9 out of 75 already receiving value, and now hopefully I'm sharing it with YOU while your read this review. Don't hesitate just buy it now. Not only that you can even use your PayPal account to pay for the course. My only regret was thinking I'd just learn it all without getting this course right from the start.

    Very happy with the support

The reason I wanted to try Shotcut was because I was getting tangled up in technicalities while using much fancier editing software called Adobe Premiere Pro. Shotcut was the third editing package I tried after Premiere and I was about to dump it along with the others when I came across James Woo's tutorials. As other people have said, they are very well-organised, clear and easy to follow, so that nothing seems overwhelming and unlike a lot of YouTube video series if you get lost or distracted, you can find all the previous steps waiting for you to go back to. I can't say I've mastered Shotcut yet because I'm still using Premiere for some projects, but the knowledge that with a little more effort I could make perfectly decent videos with this much simpler programme is very encouraging. And having James's intelligent, patient support at the end of an email makes all the difference.

    Well organized, clear, and supported

This is an excellent way to learn to use Shotcut. Each video is clear and sequenced in a logical way. I began the course already in the middle of a project, so I have skipped around in the videos and it has been pretty easy to find what information I needed. When I had a question, James made an explanatory video right away that was quite helpful. While I haven't been through all the advanced topics yet, I am looking forward to learning more editing techniques. Thank you to James for making such a helpful course.

James Woo"s "Shotcut Video Editor" Tutorials.

I have recently purchased a GoPro action cam and wanted to learn how to composite multiple video clips in order to make videos of my trips so I bought the "Shotcut Video editing Software" I was not aware at that time of Jame's course so I spent alot of time searching the internet for "How-to" videos .Then I saw James's courrse and purchased it. All tutorials in one place so I spent my time learning and not searching. The lessons are short concise and to the point. They make learning the video editing software so very easy and fun. You will quickly learn to master the software. The courses are neatly ordered to take you through beginner to intermediate to advanced levels and allow you to quickly make your first videos. I highly recommend the Shotcut Video editing Software and James Woo's course they are both GREAT !
